The "Stuff" That We Are Made Of

Barbara: One of the ideas that has been exciting me lately is my newfound awareness that this connection we all feel for one another—even when we hate or disagree with each other!—comes from a very simple source: the stuff from which we are made.

We’re talking about it in my Quantum Physics class and we’re talking about it my writer’s circles. We’re talking about it scientifically and we’re talking about it creatively and spiritually. Because, whether it resonates with you or not, at our very most atomic level, we are exactly the same as everything else. Everything else in the UNIVERSE. It brings that “we are one” mantra to a kind of whole other level, doesn’t it?

Here is a beautiful video by Max Schlickenmeyer that illustrates one such answer from astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson in a Time Magazine interview.

  3. Oh, I so love Neil deGrasse Tyson. I'm currently reading his latest book, and it's very interesting. He is so passionate and articulate. It's not often, in my experience, to hear such science presented in an accessible way. I feel he doesn't talk down to me, but he's having a conversation with me. He cares about astrophysics. He is an advocate for space, and cares about the message.

He touches on this in his book, Space Chronicles: Facing the Ultimate Frontier. Aaah. :)

  5. Oh man! That was a great vid. I wish it wasn't so cold (or windy and cloudy) outside so I could go star gazing.

  6. Hi Barb, thanks for sharing this. I too have been reading everything I can get my hands on concerning quantum physics. It just seems to make so much sense! If you have a chance, check out Bruce Lipton and Gregg Braden - had a few aha! Moments with them! Can't wait to see you so we can discuss this! Xoxo

  9. My computer is laughing about trying to load the video. It just can't handle it.

The idea of all being connected together, that we are all part of the same thing, is a wonderful one. I So wish a lot more people believed this.
